Nous sommes heureux de pouvoir présenter la première montréalaise du quartet de Shayna Dulberger! Ils sont un groupe fascinant avec un mix explosif d'improvisation et de compositions, qui compte sur des musiciens provenant d'Italie, d'Israël et des USA.

Le trio Ellwood Epps est un nouveau groupe dédié à la musique acoustique et à la recherche d'une voix personnelle dans la musique improvisée de longue forme.

La Gallerie Armatta est un bel espace situé directement de l'autre côté de la rue où se trouve le métro Lionel-Groulx. Facile d'accès, il est accessible et ouvert à tous!



Happy to have Shayna and her band making their Montreal debut! They`re an exciting band with composed sparks and improvised fire, and they`re very international, with members from Italy, Israel, and the USA.

The Ellwood Epps trio is a new band with a dedication to acoustic music and finding a personal voice in the long form of improvisation.

Galerie Armatta is a beautiful space located directly across the street from the Lionel Groulx metro stop. Easy and quick to get to from must about anywhere!

October 27: Hat & Beard playing the music of Thelonious Monk (Résonance Café)
Ken Aldcroft (guitar), Dave Clark (drums) with special guest Ellwood Epps (trompette)

Hat and Beard est un duo qui joue uniquement la musique de Thelonious Monk. Comme les groupes montréalais Évidence et Stuffy Turkey, Hat and Beard travaillent à rendre hommage à l'originalité de Monk tout en s'assurant de développer leur propre vision créative. L'Envers est enchantée de présenter leur concert au Résonance Café.

Ken Aldcroft (guitare) et Dave Clark (batterie) sont deux musiciens d'expérience de la scène de musique créative torontoise qui ont auparavant collaborer avec des artistes tels Anth
ony Braxton, William Parker, the Rheostatics ainsi que le Woodchoppers Association (mené par Clark).

Hat and Beard seront rejoint par leur ami et collaborateur de longue date Ellwood Epps, qui provient également de la scène torontoise et qui travaille aussi sur la musique de Monk avec son quartet Stuffy Turkey.


Hat and Beard is a duet who play the music of Thelonious Monk exclusively. Much like Montreal's own Evidence and Stuffy Turkey, H&B are dedicated to the singular music of this American genius, and equally dedicated to their own creative vision. L'envers is thrilled to present them at Resonance Cafe.

Ken Aldcroft (guitar) and Dave Clark (drums) are both longstanding members of Toronto's creative music scene, and have made music with the likes of Anthony Braxton, William Parker, the Rheostatics, and Clark's own Woodchoppers Association.

They will be joined for the second set by longtime friend and collaborator Ellwood Epps, who got his start in the fertile Toronto scene and is also dedicated to the Monk work with his own quartet Stuffy Turkey.

Join Hat and Beard for this night of music full of life, great music, and laughs at the beautiful and warm Resonance Cafe, Montreal's newsest jazz venue.
